1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use (the Terms) govern your use of the GroupFunds mobile applications, website and related services (together, GroupFunds or the Service) provided by Grice Mobile (we, us or our).
By accessing or using GroupFunds, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you download GroupFunds through the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to the applicable store terms. For an Apple-distributed application, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a valid custom EULA is provided through the App Store.
2. Eligibility and your Account
GroupFunds is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 and legally permitted to use the Service where you live. If local law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies.
You may sign in using Google, Apple or a one-time code sent to your email. You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- protecting access to your email, provider account and devices;
- activity performed through your GroupFunds sessions; and
- promptly contacting us if you believe your Account or a group has been accessed without permission.
You must not share one-time codes, access tokens or invitation links in a misleading or abusive way.
3. What GroupFunds provides
GroupFunds helps people create groups and record information such as contributions, shared expenses, collection requests, group-fund amounts, member balances, roles and activity history.
GroupFunds is not a bank, wallet, payment service, escrow service, lender, debt collector, accountant or financial adviser. GroupFunds does not hold or transfer money and does not complete payments between members. Any real-world payment must occur separately from the Service.
Figures shown in GroupFunds are informational records calculated from data entered or confirmed by users. We do not independently verify that an expense occurred, that a member paid, that an amount is legally owed or that a record matches a bank or payment-provider statement.
4. Groups, roles and invitations
A group may include an Owner, Admins and Members. Available actions depend on the role and group state defined by the product. Within GroupFunds:
- Owners and Admins may manage members and perform permitted financial-record actions;
- some actions, including ownership transfer and group archive or restore, are Owner-only;
- an invitation link identifies a group or intended flow but does not by itself grant membership; and
- a join request may require approval by an Owner or Admin.
You are responsible for inviting the intended people, assigning roles carefully and reviewing actions performed by people you authorize. Product roles control access inside GroupFunds but do not prove legal authority, ownership of money or authority to act for another person outside the Service.
5. User records and financial history
You and other group members control the records submitted to a group. You agree to enter information honestly and only where you have a lawful reason to share it with the group.
Posted financial records may affect the group fund, total spent, member balances, contribution totals and activity history. Some actions require confirmation, and permitted cancellation actions create an auditable reversal instead of silently deleting the original history.
You are responsible for reviewing records and resolving mistakes or disagreements with the relevant group members. GroupFunds does not decide disputes, collect unpaid amounts, guarantee repayment or determine whether a displayed balance is legally enforceable. Deleting an Account, leaving a group, removing a member or losing access to the Service does not settle, waive or cancel any real-world obligation between users.
6. Content and privacy within a group
Group information and financial records may be visible to other members of the same group according to their role and the product rules. Do not submit information that you are not permitted to share.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce and display that content only as necessary to operate, secure and support GroupFunds and comply with law. This license ends when the content is no longer required for those purposes, except where retention is needed to preserve shared records, security, backups, audit integrity or legal compliance.
Our processing of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use GroupFunds to:
- break the law or facilitate fraud, theft, money laundering or other harmful activity;
- harass, threaten, impersonate or deceive another person;
- submit content that infringes privacy, confidentiality or intellectual-property rights;
- manipulate records to mislead group members;
- distribute malware, probe the Service for vulnerabilities or interfere with its operation;
- automate access, scrape data or overload the Service without written permission;
- bypass access controls, rate limits, membership approval or account-security measures; or
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the application except where applicable law expressly permits it.
We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, shared records, the Service or third parties, or to comply with law.
8. Premium purchases
GroupFunds may offer monthly, yearly or lifetime Premium products. The products, prices, billing period, trial information and benefits shown in the applicable store at checkout control the purchase.
Apple App Store or Google Play processes the payment. Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant store before renewal. Cancellation normally stops future renewal and does not automatically refund the current billing period. Refund eligibility and processing are controlled by the store and applicable law. Use the store account that made the purchase to manage a subscription or restore an eligible purchase.
A lifetime purchase is a one-time entitlement to the Premium features made available for that product while GroupFunds and the applicable product remain offered. It is not a promise that the Service, every feature or platform support will exist forever.
9. Account deletion and retained shared records
You may delete your Account in the GroupFunds mobile app. If you cannot access the app, follow our Account deletion instructions. Deletion is permanent when processed and cannot be undone. We revoke GroupFunds sessions and sign-in identities and remove personal profile data according to the deletion contract and Privacy Policy.
Deleting an Account does not erase or reverse posted financial records shared with a group. Former memberships, ledger entries, balances, contributions, expenses, collections and activity may remain under the name Deleted account so that other members retain an accurate group history. A deleted Account does not receive new transactions or notifications.
If the deleted Account owns a group, GroupFunds may transfer ownership to an eligible active Admin or Member of that same group based on the server's recent-activity policy. If no eligible person exists, the group may be archived.
Signing in later with the same Google, Apple or email identity creates a new, empty Account. It does not restore the deleted Account or automatically reconnect former memberships.
10. Service changes, availability and backups
We may update, add, limit, suspend or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with platform or legal requirements or improve the Service. Where practical, we will avoid changes that unnecessarily damage the integrity of shared records.
The Service may be interrupted or unavailable. Although we use safeguards and backups appropriate to the Service, no system is completely secure or error-free. Keep independent copies of receipts, payment confirmations and other records that you may need outside GroupFunds.
11. Third-party services
GroupFunds relies on services provided by companies such as Google, Apple, Amazon and cloud or notification providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
12. Intellectual property
GroupFunds, including its software, design, branding and documentation, is owned by Grice Mobile or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use GroupFunds for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GroupFunds is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free calculations, recovery of data, accuracy of user-submitted records or that the Service will meet every group's needs.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Grice Mobile is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising from use of GroupFunds, including loss caused by inaccurate entries, decisions by group members, real-world payments, lost profits, lost data or interruption of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights available where you live.
14. Termination
You may stop using GroupFunds at any time and may request Account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create a security risk, harm other users or if we are legally required to do so.
Sections that by their nature should continue after termination remain effective, including provisions about shared financial history, user responsibility, intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as GroupFunds changes. The effective date identifies the current version. For a material change, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, website or another appropriate channel before the new terms take effect where required by law. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
